Pluto

pluto and moons

Is Pluto a planet?
Apparently not!
Poor Pluto as planet,
That title was shot...
Used to be planet,
Ninth from the sun,
But now was demoted,
To one minus one...
It’s ice and rock,
Far out in space,
With Eris and Ceres,
It shares a strange place,
It’s a dwarf planet,
Orbits the skies,
But not a ‘real’ planet,
Based on its size!

Pluto:

Back in the olden days when I was going to elementary school, Pluto was the ninth planet from the sun. Unfortunately, the "planet" label for Pluto has been revoked and it is now considered a dwarf planet. Alas, it still orbits the sun like our Earth, but it has not "cleared its neighborhood" which upon a very small amount of internet research, I believe, means it is not necessarily the dominant gravitational force in its orbital zone- there are some other big objects floating around on their own.
